Nairobi | Restaurants & Foodie Finds

Whether I’m in the mood for a slow dinner with friends or dining solo, Nairobi always has something delicious waiting. A few favorites:

🌿 Botanica – Kitchen & Gin Bar (Westlands)
Perched on the 7th floor of One Africa Place, Botanica offers a serene escape in the heart of the city. The stylish, greenery-filled interior creates a fresh and relaxing ambiance, complemented by breathtaking city views. Their diverse menu features standout dishes like chicken curry bao buns and fish & chips, while the gin bar boasts an impressive selection of craft cocktails. It's an ideal spot for both business lunches and intimate dinners.

🍴 Nairobi Street Kitchen (Westlands)
This eclectic food market transforms dining into a global adventure. With a variety of vendors serving everything from wood-fired pizzas to flavorful Indian cuisine, there's something to satisfy every palate. The vibrant atmosphere, adorned with graffiti and art installations, makes it a lively spot for casual outings with friends. Don't miss their teriyaki chicken thighs and the diverse cocktail offerings.

🎶 The Alchemist (Westlands)
The Alchemist is a cultural hub where music, art, and cuisine converge. The open-air space hosts live performances, DJ sets, and film screenings, fostering a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere. With an array of food trucks offering diverse culinary delights and a well-stocked bar serving craft cocktails, it's a go-to destination for a memorable night out.

🥐 Artcaffé (various locations)
While it’s a local chain, the Sarit Centre location is especially cozy. Their pastries are always fresh, and they serve a rosemary cappuccino that feels like a little hug in a cup. I’ve also heard great things about the hummus!

🌱 Cultiva Kenya (Karen)
Nestled in the lush suburb of Karen, Cultiva offers a farm-to-table dining experience that celebrates sustainability and creativity. The restaurant features an open-air, rustic setting that harmonizes with its eco-friendly ethos. The seasonal menu showcases organic produce sourced directly from their on-site farm, ensuring each dish bursts with freshness and flavor. I am obsessed with their pizza and their garlic bread, and I’ve heard goof things about their burgers! Due to its popularity, reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.
