Nairobi | A Cozy Stay Guide for Travelers
Whether I’m landing late, seeking quiet after a long road trip, or looking for a place that feels like home while I write and wander—where I stay in Nairobi makes all the difference. Over time, I’ve found a few favorite spots: garden-filled hotels with soft lighting, rooftop Airbnbs with skyline views, and restful retreats that invite you to slow down and exhale.
This guide gathers the places that have welcomed me well—spaces that are safe, cozy, and thoughtfully located for solo women, creatives, and heart-led travelers who crave beauty and calm in between the city’s busy rhythms. I hope one of these stays becomes part of your own Nairobi story.
🌇 PrideInn Azure Hotel – Westlands
Tucked into the lively Westlands neighborhood, PrideInn Azure is an easygoing stay with thoughtful touches—comfy rooms, a sunny pool deck, and close proximity to shopping, food, and Nairobi’s energy. Great for travelers who want a city base with some calm in between. It’s a walkable distance from the One Africa Building (where the Botanica Kitchen Restaurant is located on the 7th floor!) and if you are feeling bold, you can walk cross the expressway to get to the mall, a Naivas for groceries, or many restaurants (Nairobi Street Kitchen is my facorite!) You can check out these restaurants in my Where to Eat Post!
✈️ Four Points by Sheraton – Nairobi Airport
Perfect for late arrivals or early flights, this airport hotel is surprisingly restful—with quiet, modern rooms and a rooftop pool that lets you breathe before the next adventure. A welcome dose of comfort after long travel days. I love planning a day between my 11pm arrival into nairobi, and my flight to Migori, so that I can enjoy a day at Four Point’s Spa, lounging by the pool, and watching planes arrive and depart from the trooftop bar/restaurant.
🌿 Safari Park Hotel & Gardens
If you’re craving a stay that feels like a quiet escape, Safari Park is a classic. Nestled in lush gardens with winding paths, African-style architecture, and plenty of open-air dining, it’s peaceful without being far from the city.
🏙️ Skypark Airbnbs – Westlands
For those who prefer a more homey stay, the Skypark apartments are perfect. Whether you choose a one-bedroom skyline unit or a two-bedroom with a park view, you’ll have your own kitchen, access to a rooftop pool, and views that stretch into the city’s heart. I like the options in this building because it is located on the same side of the expressway as the Westlands mall and many restaurants!
